Hey Biglever
I'm a big fan of older military rifles. US and foreign. I'd love to get my hands on an original M1Garand. That's #1 on my list for antique. Cool site here. https://m1-garand-rifle.com/

They get big money for them, I have looked at a few.
I like my Enfield s, just returned one to original condition
Some one sporterized it. It's a good shooter.

Which is why my safe still does not have an M1. :angry-banghead:
Enfields are sweet! That's on the list as well. I can't seem to pull the trigger (no pun intended) on buying an antique when my modern list is so long.

I have quite a few, in fact I just took two 8mm mausers
Two put on consignment, and I still have my yugo 8 mm
I enjoy shooting the old rifles on the range . Shoot a couple times a week, during the summer.

Do you have a range on your property or do you go to a local range?

Had a war bring back, German 98 with the dirty birds still on it.
And a sporterized Spanish mauser with half octagon barrel, just had it reblued. They bought went out the door
Pretty fast.

Added in 10 minutes 42 seconds later:
I go to a local sportsman club range, it's only out to 150 yds. But that's far enuf for iron sites, and my old eyes.

Mauser K98? That's a hell of a find.

A guy I use to work with, had it, his father in law, brought it home, he fought in the European theater, then was sent to northern African to fight against Rommel ,
Don't no what battle field he picked it up on, but it was a nice peace.

I have a nice 30/40 krag , that some ding ding, drilled and taped for a scope mount. That made the gun worthless
To any collector.
I want to keep it as a strong military looking rifle, and found a hydrographics rap, that was perfect for the stock.
It is a great tribute to all the soldiers that served in our armed forces. Will try to post a pic.
Must have deleted my pic, well take a pic later today,
