Post by Thompson » Mon Apr 16, 2018 10:59 am

Police detained a 60-year-old local man here yesterday for allegedly making and selling home-made shotguns.
Sarawak CID chief SAC Datuk Dev Kumar said acting on a public tip-off, a team of policemen led by ASP Lawrence Anak Rawieng raided the man's rented room in a shop house in Jalan Mendu at around 4pm yesterday.
Upon inspection, police seized five home-made shotguns, 19 marbles and various gun-making paraphernalia.
"The man, who works as a parking attendant at the Sarawak General Hospital, is living alone in the rented room," said Dev.
Initial investigation found that the suspect had been making shotguns to be sold to hunters.
The case is being investigated under Section 8(a) of the Arms Act 1960.
