The USS Liscome Bay CVE - 56 sunk after being torpedoed by Japanese submarine I - 175 off Gilbert Islands.
At 05:33 , only 23 minutes after being struck the ship listed. To starboard and sank.
Of The 916 crewmen onboard only 272 were rescued.
And that's the way it was on November 24, 1943.
May those Seamen rest in peace.

She still had all her bombs on board, and planes, the torpedo, struck right in the area of one of the magazine s, full of bombs, they didn't have a chance.
