Was digging true my junk, looking for something I didn't find yet
But ran across a letter that was sent to my parents, from the Captain of my ship. Some is hard to read, but you mite like to read it.
I served on three ships in the Navy

USS KLONDIKE AR-22
USS Perkins DD- 886
Orleck DD - 887

A good site for any old Navy service member
Is Hull number.com
You can look up your old ship, and find out if it is still in the fleet, or decommissioned or sold for scrap
Or sold to another country etc.
Look up old shipmates.

August 20th ,2020 it will be 48 years since I stood at attention, and took one step backwards, and left the US
NAVY.
doesn't seem possible.
May,12 th 1945 the USS Orleck DD - 886 was Launched, and put into service, were it served during the cold war, and in the Korean
War, and the Vietnam war, gaining the title of ( TOP GUN ) in Vietnam conflict. Firing more rounds in support of ground Troops
Than any other ship in the Fleet.
