Our big game hunting season in the southern zone opens Sat morning.

Nice. Good luck to you if you're going. Our (NH) deer season opened Nov. 8th for firearms.

That was the reason I didn't have a full class for new member orientation at my Gun Club (Sara Spa Rod & Gun Club Greenfield Center NY)

Years ago, they gave kids opening day off from school.
School was closed..

I'm not 100% certain, but I believe they still do that up in Maine or parts of Maine.
