There is something about 22 Long Rifle cartridges that make them fun to shoot. Another of my favorite handguns is this Smith & Wesson model 622. I especially like that it has a magazine disconnector and that you do not have switch off the safety to operate the bolt. You can load and unload the pistol without releasing thr safety.

It was many years ago when I first learned to shoot. I had asked my father if I could get a BB gun and I had saved up enough money to buy one. He said that I could NOT get a BB Gun as kids think they are toys any play with them as if they are toys. He said that I could learn to shoot a 22 but I had to know that it is REAL AND HAS TO BE TREATED WITH RESPECT AND ALWAYS USED SAFELY. He taught my brother and me to shoot with my mothers Winchester 1900 22 long. She had used it to keep the pests down on the farm she grew up on. I really liked that little .22 long Winchester rifle and still own it. It has been a while since I shot it. When was the last time any of you have seen 22 long rimfire cartridges for sale?

It would be the one that gives me the most trouble.
If it's getting close to Turkey season, and iam trying to find the best choke tube , and Turkey shell that gives me the best pattern, then it would be that shotgun, that gets all my attention.

Back in the 1960s I was able to buy a Colt 1911A1 from WW2. I liked it and shot it a lot. When I got my first Police appointment in 1965 being a fan of Col. Jeff Cooper I wanted to carry it for my duty weapon and did for a few weeks but the Chief of Police did not like my carrying and insisted that I carry a revolver. I got rid of the 1911A1 a few years later. I did not have a single action Auto Pistol for many years. After I retired I thought about getting another 1911 but there were no cheap war surplus 45 acp Semi Autos available. The best priced 1911 45 that I could find was a slightly used Ruger SR 1911that I bought. When I took it to the range I was very happy with the accuracy. The sights were much better than my old 1911A1. This gun is a winner. Although I really like shooting it the Covid 19 has shut the ranges.
