The 2021 legislative session ends on Friday, March 5th, and two important self-defense bills are eligible for action on the Senate floor. Please contact your state senator and ask them to SUPPORT HB 227 and HB 216.
House Bill 227, sponsored by Representative Karianne Lisonbee (R-14), improves Utah's self-defense laws by defining justifiable use of force, and establishing procedures for the applicability of the defense. Citizens who suffer the misfortune of having to use force to defend themselves and others should not be victimized a second time by the judicial system. House Bill 216, sponsored by Representative Karianne Lisonbee (R-14), makes technical and clarifying changes to improve Utah's provisional concealed firearms permits. Again, please contact your state senator and ask them to SUPPORT HB 227 and HB 216.
