Yesterday, Governor Spencer Cox signed two more self-defense bills, for a total of three that he has signed into law in 2021, including permitless carry that he signed in February. House Bill 227, sponsored by Representative Karianne Lisonbee (R-14), improves Utah's self-defense laws by defining justifiable use of force, and establishing procedures for the applicability of the defense. Citizens who suffer the misfortune of having to use force to defend themselves and others should not be victimized a second time by the judicial system. House Bill 216, sponsored by Representative Karianne Lisonbee (R-14), makes technical and clarifying changes to improve Utah's provisional concealed firearms permits. NRA thanks Gov.
