WHITESBORO N.Y.- Over 100 people came out for a Back the Blue Rally to support law enforcement in Whitesboro Thursday evening. The rally took place at the Whitesboro Village Green in the Village. Notable politicians including Assemblywoman Marianne Buttenschon, and Republican Congressional Candiate Claudia Tenney attended. Dana Nimey-Olney, one of the co-organizers of the rally tells NEWSChannel 2 those in law enforcement sacifice a lot to keep people safe, and sometimes that is at their own personal expense. “The men and women in law enforcement are always missing family gatherings, birthdays holidays.” said Nimey-Olney “They are always out there in the middle of the fray, and they need to have our support.” This was not a rally against anyone. The purpose of the event was to show community support for police in a positive and uplifting way.
