Looks like a great range. Nice rifle. Thanks for putting up with the cold and wind for us. Had some of that here today too. When do you think you'll be trying your 400m?

Did a search of local gun clubs, looking for a 400yd range, none close by, but iam not giving up yet.

Added in 9 minutes 58 seconds later:
I just thought of something, the gun shop I deal with is on a big old farm, I'll ask them if it's possible, I could try to make this shot. Let you know

I would think they would allow it if safety wasn't a concern. Good luck.

Unless they don't want to set precedent.

I checked with an old boss of mine ,who has a farm, the longest shot he has is just under 300 yds.
If I strike out, I can shoot on his farm.
Will see.

Good luck. 300 yds. is still a hell of a shot.

One problem that I have found with the SMLE is that it some times splits cartridges in half. It happened with both the BUBBA SMLE that I had after I got rid of them. My friend to whom I sold one to franticly called me and told me that while he sas shooting it out came one half of the empty cartridge case ant of course he could not load another round. I told him that I would be right over. I brought a cleaning rod and an assortment of brass cleaning brushes. I removed the bolt and pushed an over size cleaning brush into the chamber and out came the top half of the cartridge case. My other SMLE I had given to my brother and the same thing happened when one or two of his boys were shooting it. But instead of calling Uncle Jim they tried to remove the broken case with hammer, screwdrivers, and varous sharp instruments totally ruining the chamber. It can be easily fixed but not with a hammer.
Firearms Safety is No Accident. Jim
