Nope, I know the owner of that farm , have to ask him if I can do some chuck hunting , in his fields this summer.
Want to use my old military rifles, scoped and iron sites
Just to make it fun.

That sounds fun. What do you do with the chucks when you get them?

Once I saved two to barbeque on the grill, the younger
One wasn't bad, the older one was very tuff.
I have a summer long ground hog shoot set up on another site. Just for fun , but I found a site that has some very serious shooters, one guy posted his stats
For yr 2016 , he got something like 105 wood chucks
With a confirmed kill ,longest shot of 515 yards.
He didn't do that with open iron sites. That is some great shooting.
I also have a woodchuck target shoot , again for fun, at the NRA. Certified target, that me and another guy, are working out the details on,
He wants to due it more professional, than I would have.
But I am giving him first shot at it, will see how many sign up for his way, then I will do one my way , and see how many sign up for mine.
I started this to get people ,to get out to the range with throes old military rifles and have some fun, and give them a reason to shoot.
8mm Mauser's / 303 British/ 8x56Rs mannlicher, 30/40 krag, etc. Two categories iron sites and scoped.
He wants just iron sites, and everyone mails the targets
To him to score.
I Am just going to trust everyone, to post pictures of there targets, and believe there measurements.
Like I said, just want to give people a reason to get out
To the range, and have a friendly competition.
It's not to get you ready for Camp Perry.

If people want to cheat , they will, But they won't beat me . I can make a perfect 5, shot group, with my Dewalt
Battery Drill, at any yards, until my battery goes dead.

The farmers want the ground hogs gone. With there dens
And holes in the fields , many times a almost fully loaded hay wagon, has been dumped, and left with a broken axel, or snapped spindle because of wood chucks.
Many farmers smoke bomb the holes and fill them in.

Are you very familiar with Camp Perry or the people who shoot there? A former acquaintance of mine used to teach kids to shoot and go to Camp Perry every year. He was shooting 600 yds. with iron.

I gave up my certified NRA instructor credentials some
Time ago.
