Yes, you can. Below the Quick Reply, click the Full Editor & Preview button. The Full Editor has many options. On the bottom-right of the menu above the posting box, you'll see a little arrow in a circle. Click that and it will allow you to embed video into your post from dozens of sites. There is a drop-down menu to choose the site where the video is from. The default is youtube.com.

In the url bar at the top of your mobile browser. Make sure you include the complete url with the http or https.
Just COPY it and PASTE it into the Video URL field after you click the video icon.

With the video open on youtube, you can also click SHARE then click COPY LINK. That's even easier than having to copy from the URL bar.

You can embed it into a post using the arrow icon I described. You can also upload it in the Video Gallery. When you navigate to your uploaded video in the gallery, you'll find 4 different types of URL links below it. You can just copy the BBcode link and paste it into any post.

I understand your frustration, but once you do it a couple times there's really not much to it. Mobile devices are a bit cumbersome.

Update:

We made some custom changes. You are now able to simply paste the media/video URL from 120 different popular sites to embed the media into your post. The media/video feed will be embedded into your post.

Among the list are:

YouTube
FoxNews
Instagram
ABCnews
Yahoo! Screen
Spotify
CNN
Reddit threads and comments
...and more.

This should make it easier.
