It may seem strange but I always bring this COLT Scout to the range and pick up the 22 Long Rifle Cartridges that the other shooters drop and fire them to turn them into brass. For some reason I always find several rounds with or without primer dents on the ground or in the brass buckets. 90%+ will fire and if the junkie has live rounds in the junk brass and tries to melt them he may get upset with us. Of course we all know that there is no danger to life and limb but unexpected BANGS can get people upset.

I love revolvers. Since I was a boy, I've been fascinated by the sound and action of revolvers. That model you have there jimg11 is probably worth few bucks as I'm sure you know.jimg11 wrote: ↑Tue Dec 26, 2017 11:15 amIt may seem strange but I always bring this COLT Scout to the range and pick up the 22 Long Rifle Cartridges that the other shooters drop and fire them to turn them into brass. Both the Ruger 10-22 and the Marlin 60 have been very popular for many years. The Ruger 10-22 is probably the best 22 lr rifle ever designed but the Marlin 60 and its various named and numbered copys was always high in sales with millions being sold over the years. Their cheaper price helped to sell them to the masses. The only problem with the model 60 was that it needed to be cleaned more often then the Ruger. When I worked in a local Gun Shop the person wanting to trade his Marlin 60 was because it stopped working. We knew that a thorough CLEANING would get the model 60 working for another 500 to 1000 rounds before it stopped working again. I own neither as my 22 semi auto is a Austria Import, the Voere just because it is different.

For my 22 lr Auto Loading Rifle I have this nice VOERE imported from KUFSTIEN AUSTRIA by "STEYR GRAND RAPIDS, MI". I believe it was one of the first ones in this country as I have heard the STEYR IMPORT COMPANY went away in a very short time. This is a neat well designed rifle that is a lot of fun to shoot.

I have this thing about Smith & Wesson Hand Guns. I used them exclusively in first 18 years of my police work. After that I was issued Sig Sauer semi Autos for police duty but still used S&Ws for my personal weapons. I liked and used the S&W revolvers and also liked and used S&W 1st, 2nd, and 3rd Generation Semi Autos.

My favorite S&W 9mm is a 3913 that I used for some police work before I was issued my Sig Sauer.
